Roof Condition Surveys

Condition Surveys form the base of what Permicoat offers to our clients.

Over the past 30 years, Permicoat has built up a reputation for quality and roof condition surveys form the base of that. To sum it up, this part of the roofing & waterproofing process involves ascertaining the condition of your roofing in order for our operatives & technicians to properly specify the correct programme of works for your project. As part of our surveys, Permicoat can go ahead with core sampling, condition surveys, roof drainage outlet CCTV inspections, thermal imaging surveys & electronic leak detection surveys.

Core Sampling

One of the first things Permicoat will do will obtain something called a core sample. This is a test that involves cutting and removing a cylindrical sample of the roofing structure until the structural deck is reached. This allows our technicians to identify the integrity of the current roof & identify the materials that have been used. From this, Permicoat can create a specification based on the needs of your waterproofing or roofing project.

Roof Condition Surveys

A roof condition survey is an observation and analysis of your structure by one of our operatives or technicians in order to gain a basic understanding of the project & the current condition of the roof or waterproofing project.  Permicoat is now delighted to be able to offer drone surveys to our clients as part of a roof condition survey. This allows us to gain an understanding of the project whilst not having to go onto the roof or building itself.

Thermal Imaging Surveys

Another way to test the integrity of you roof & waterproofing system is through a series of thermal imaging test. This test uses an infrared camera to find out the moisture levels of your roof without having to damage the system through a test like a core sample. Like a core sample, this test helps us determine the condition of your roof & recommend the best system based on your needs.

Electronic Leak Detection

Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) is another way to test the integrity of your waterproofing system by identifying water leak entry & areas of trapped water within a flat roof or low pitched roof. This system uses charged bristles to identify the problematic areas with pinpoint precision with the areas in question being marked for remedial works. Like thermal imaging, this test is non-destructive.

Roof Drainage Outlet CCTV Inspection

A part of our surveys, we will perform roof drainage outlet CCTV inspection. Through our specialist CCTV equipment, we will review all of your drainage outlets to make sure they are working as they are suppose to & to make sure there isn’t any blockages or damage. The weight of pondering water that isn’t drained may cause damage to the structure to the structure or roofing system so, it’s vital that we address any issues with your drainage outlets as soon as possible.
